This page explains how licensing works for content and code produced by Nautomation Prime.

1. Proprietary Content (All Rights Reserved)

The following are proprietary to Christopher Davies, Trading as Nautomation Prime and protected under copyright law:

Protected Intellectual Property

  • The PRIME Framework (Pinpoint → Re-Engineer → Implement → Measure → Empower)
  • The PRIME Philosophy (five core principles: transparency, measurability, ownership, safety, empowerment)
  • Nautomation Prime branding (logos, visual design, brand assets)
  • Consulting methodologies and proprietary business processes

Usage Rights

You may view and read this content for personal, educational purposes only.

You may NOT:

  • Reproduce, copy, or distribute
  • Modify or create derivative works
  • Use commercially without written permission
  • Claim ownership or authorship

Why We Share These Openly

Our educational mission is to empower network engineers. Sharing tutorials under CC-BY means:

Code published in public Nautomation Prime GitHub repositories is licensed under:

4. Bespoke / Consulting Work

For paid or commissioned automation projects, code is provided under a custom agreement tailored to the client, typically:

  • MIT License (permissive)
  • Apache License 2.0 (permissive + patent protection)
  • Proprietary License (exclusive to client)

The specific license is negotiated during the project engagement.

Yes! Tutorials are CC-BY licensed. You can:

  • Share the guide with your students
  • Include it in course materials
  • Adapt it to your teaching style
  • Host it on your own platform

Just credit Nautomation Prime and link back if possible.

The CDP Network Audit Script — Can I modify it for our environment?

Yes! Code is MIT licensed. You can:

  • Install and run it as-is
  • Modify it to fit your network
  • Distribute your version
  • Use it commercially

Just include the MIT license and credit Nautomation Prime.

The PRIME Framework — Can I use it in my consulting practice?

No. The PRIME Framework is proprietary. However:

  • You can read it to understand our approach
  • You can apply similar principles to your own work
  • You cannot republish or rebrand it

To use the PRIME Framework officially, contact us for a partnership or licensing agreement.
